MEDO ‘Treppie’ Tour sponsored by Isuzu Trucks is back in Port Elizabeth to afford local entrepreneurs and start-ups the opportunity to grow their businesses. The Treppie is essentially a mobile entrepreneur incubator housed inside a four tonne vehicle that has been equipped with ten computers and internet connectivity and has a team at hand to assist entrepreneurs with advice and queries.
This coming week between 9-13 March Treppie will again be visiting Port Elizabeth after a successful tour in November 2014. MEDO Treppie manager Azola Qhina describes her aspirations for the tour, “We are hoping to find a truckful of enterprising entrepreneurs, and the fact that we will be travelling with state-of-the-art technology, we will have the greatest ever opportunity to do so.”
The aim is to promote entrepreneurship and enterprising ideas amongst the local community. MEDO will run a four day tour starting at Vuyisile Mini Square on the 9th March and will end at Ziyabuya Shopping Centre on the 13th March. The organisers invite entrepreneurs to visit the mobile office – or Treppie – to pitch their businesses and discuss business opportunities. Successful applicants will receive a boost to their enterprise in the form of access to further training programmes. “The partnership between entrepreneurs and MEDO contributes to job creation and growth in our country” Noluthando Tutani, MEDO Project Manager explains.
On the 12th March MEDO will be spending the day at the Isuzu Conference where delegates will be introduced to the new truck sponsored by Isuzu.
