At MEDO we run a Women in STEM programme by training schoolgirls between grade 9-11 in skills to equip them to put together Africa’s first privately-owned satellite. We have worked with space programme students and engineers from UCT and CPUT as well as internationally reclaimed space scientists such as Dr Ben Malphrus and Prof Bob Twiggs.
We also work with a range of successful, and soon-to-be successful entrepreneurs, holding their hands and advising them every step of the way. To do this we work with prominent local and multinational companies and of course the DTI funding programmes to further our entrepreneurs. Our entrepreneurs never pay a cent for anything.
