MEDO Big Pitch: Entrepreneurs compete for an International Trade opportunity

As experts on Supplier and Enterprise Development, MEDO is well known for providing entrepreneurs with highly successful and potentially business changing opportunities. Perhaps the most notable of these opportunities is the International Trade Programme run by the organisation. Those selected to go on this programme first go through a demanding International Trade Boot Camp which culminates in a final Big Pitch session where successful applicants are chosen for the big trip!

Following an initial selection process of hundreds of applicants, a week long Boot Camp, made possible by BT Communication Services, recently took place and was followed by a Big Pitch session in Cape Town. This saw participants from a wide range of sectors demonstrating their readiness to take on trade on an international level by pitching their businesses to members of the British Chamber of Business, company CEOs and supply chain managers, both in the private and public sector.

The entrepreneurs who made it through the Boot Camp will now pitch at a final session in Johannesburg on the 20th of January 2106.  A select number of entrepreneurs will be chosen at this session to visit – at no cost to themselves – the UK in March 2016 on a business and trade delegation aimed at developing trade relations with UK-based businesses.

In its fifth year, this programme has been sponsored by UK multinationals and each time the successful businesses in the Big Pitch session have been able to develop trade relationships in the UK.
